The Wisconsin Underground 3 is loaded with women’s talent. The 14-match main card is split evenly between men’s and women’s matches. Of those seven, five have Wisconsin ties and five are wrestlers for McKendree. Here’s some information on tonight’s matchups.

The first women’s matchup announced was Michaela Beck versus Brenda Reyna. Beck is a 2020 Junior National finalist and two-time Junior World team member (2018 and 2019). Brenda Reyna is also a two-time junior World team member (2016 and 2018). Collegiately Reyna is coming off a medical redshirt season. She’s ranked No. 3 in the NCAA and is a two-time WCWA All-American (2018 and 2019).

WRTC athlete Erin Golston will wrestle McKendree’s NCWWC champion Pauline Granados. Golston’s most recent wins have been on card-style events over Emily Shilson, Maria Vidales and Devyn Gomez. Ronna Heaton will wrestle Felicity Taylor and it’s the first match at her 53kg weight class that she’s wrestled in a while. She recently defeated Desiree Zavala on FloWrestling and Koral Sugiyama at Underground 2. Heaton is a 2020 Senior Nationals finalist and U23 champion. Felicity Taylor is fresh off a 2-0 weekend at a dual tournament at King University. Taylor (ranked No. 2 in the NCAA) is a two-time college national finalist, All-American and 2020 UWW Junior finalist.

Wisconsin native and NCAA No. 1 Jayden Laurent is set to wrestle McKendree’s Joye Levendusky. Levendusky (NCAA No. 5) is a 2020 Junior finalist and placed 3rd at U23s. Levendusky placed 4th at the inaugural NCWWC and 7th at WCWAs the previous season. Laurent is a junior at Lakeland University. As a freshman she won the WCWA National Championships and was a finalist at the WCWAs and NCWWC’s in 2020. Laurent is a two-time Junior World team member.

Sophia Smith, a wrestler at Oklahoma City, will wrestle McKendree’s Payton Stroud. Stroud was a NCWWC All-American her freshman year and is ranked No. 7 in the NCAA. Smith, the only NAIA wrestler on this card is ranked N0. 7 in the NAIA at 130 pounds.

There are two high school matches set for the women’s bouts. Kylie Welker, Wisconsin’s No. 1 ranked high schooler, will wrestle Rose Cassioppi. Welker is a 2020 Junior national finalist and defeated Amor Tuttle at Underground 2. Cassioppi, a sophomore from Roscoe IL, is ranked No. 5 at 152 pounds. High school senior Mia Palumbo (No. 2 at 112) will wrestle fellow senior Chloe Ayers (No. 3 at 117). Palumbo recently committed to wrestle at Iowa Wesleyan.

The main card starts at 7 pm CT and will be streamed only on Rokfin.
