Tiffin, Ohio – The National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships were contested Saturday, March 6th, on the campus of Tiffin University. There were 22 NCAA programs and 147 wrestlers. McKendree won the team title for a second consecutive season, racking up 209 points and a 37.5-point gap. King was second with 171.5 points, and Emmanuel was third with 133.5.

PRE-EVENT: The National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships will take place in Tiffin, OH, on March 6thon the campus of Tiffin University. The NCWWC includes NCAA schools sponsoring women’s wrestling and is the NCAA-specific college championship as part of the steps for the NCAA to award women’s wrestling championship status. McKendree University won the inaugural event in 2020 with five champions. The Bearcats return with 15 qualifiers, four wrestlers ranked No. 1 and four ranked No. 2. Participants at this year’s event were determined at four regional qualifiers across the country, which allowed four wrestlers at each weight to advance. This is the first postseason event in women’s wrestling with regional qualifiers in place to determine the brackets.

Returning champs McKendree University dominated the final NWCA Coaches Rankings for NCAA Women with No. 1 ranked wrestlers in four of the ten weight classes plus four more ranked No. 2. King has two No. 1 ranked wrestlers and four No. 2. Augsburg, Emmanuel and North Central each have a wrestler ranked No. 1 in the latest poll. Individual ranking cards by the NWCA are posted below.
